Admission Requirements at UVIC

Undergraduate Programs: 

  1. Academic Requirements: International students must meet the minimum academic requirements for admission. This typically includes the completion of secondary education that is equivalent to Canadian high school completion. Applicants must submit their official transcripts or academic records, including course grades and graduation certificates with their certified English translation. UVic may require undergraduate applicants to submit official transcripts via an International Credential Advantage Package (ICAP) from World Education Services (WES) Canada for verification as part of the admission process.
  2. English Language Proficiency: Since English is the language of instruction at Laurentian University, international students whose first language is not English must demonstrate English language proficiency. Accepted language proficiency tests include the TOEFL (iBT-90 overall), IELTS (6.5 overall) or other equivalent exams. The specific minimum score requirements may vary depending on the program and level of study.

Unless otherwise specified in the program’s admission requirements, prospective degree students are expected to possess a four-year bachelor’s degree if applying to a master’s program with an equivalent of a minimum “B” average over the last two years of your degree or a master’s degree if applying to a Ph.D. program with an academic average as specified by the academic unit.
  2.     • All programs: Tuition ranges between $ 14,000 CAD – $21,000 per term

      • Eg. Undergraduate Business program Tuition: $14,858 CAD per term

  2. Graduate Program Tuition: 
    • Tuition costs for Master’s Degree Programs vary between $3,000 CAD – $13,000 CAD per term
      • Eg. the Master of Global Business program Tuition: $12,830 CAD per term
      • Eg. M.Eng in Applied Data Science program Tuition: $13,350 CAD per term
      • Eg. M.Eng in Biomedical Systems program Tuition: $10,820 CAD per term

  3. Tuition Deposit: International students are obliged to submit a deposit of $750 CAD to secure their enrollment at UVIC. The deposit will go towards your initial semester’s tuition.

  9. Cluster Housing (Townhouse or Apartment): Ranges from approximately $6,500 CAD to $9,500 CAD per academic year
  10. Graduate Student Housing Cost: Ranges from approximately $9,000 CAD to $11,500 CAD per academic year

Refund Policy: 

After the program commences, it is not feasible to receive a refund for the tuition. However, in the event that your visa application is rejected by the Canadian Embassy, we will reimburse you the $750 deposit, any applicable tuition fees, and the $300 Homestay fee. Please note that the application fee cannot be refunded.
