The Pre-Veterinary Program at Trust Academy spans one year and is available to all incoming students. You will interact with students from different cultures in small groups. You will adapt to an independent way of life and learn how to prepare for university entrance exams. The Pre-University program for veterinary studies is also a social experience. The University of Veterinary Medicine in Hungary is one of the oldest veterinary universities in the world. It meets European standards and enrolls only a limited number of students in Budapest each year. In fact, aiding in the improvement of animal diseases, the veterinary school was established shortly after the founding of the world’s first veterinary school in Lyon in 1762, in Budapest, Hungary, in 1787.

The University of Veterinary Medicine in Budapest gained worldwide recognition as an independent university in the first half of the twentieth century. In 1990, a train station and a large animal clinic were built outside Budapest, providing access to animals such as horses and cows for clinical years.

During the next three years (clinical + paraclinical), the curriculum includes the following: animal breeding, pathology, pharmacology, toxicology, microbiology, pathophysiology, parasitology, animal nutrition, veterinary medicine, surgery, obstetrics, food hygiene, forensic medicine, animal hygiene, epizootiology, and country veterinary affairs.

 

Final Year of Veterinary Medicine in Hungary

The 11th term (practical) includes practical work and clinical practice in the clinics of the faculty and related institutions of the University of Veterinary Medicine. Practical work in field stations and governmental institutions, as well as with specialist veterinarians, is part of the curriculum. Before completing the curriculum, students must submit a thesis and pass a state exam. Upon successful completion of the exam, students are awarded a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.
