In fact, aiding in the improvement of animal diseases, the veterinary school was established shortly after the founding of the world’s first veterinary school in Lyon in 1762, in Budapest, Hungary, in 1787.

During the next three years (clinical + paraclinical), the curriculum includes the following: animal breeding, pathology, pharmacology, toxicology, microbiology, pathophysiology, parasitology, animal nutrition, veterinary medicine, surgery, obstetrics, food hygiene, forensic medicine, animal hygiene, epizootiology, and country veterinary affairs.
Final Year of Veterinary Medicine in Hungary
The 11th term (practical) includes practical work and clinical practice in the clinics of the faculty and related institutions of the University of Veterinary Medicine. Practical work in field stations and governmental institutions, as well as with specialist veterinarians, is part of the curriculum. Before completing the curriculum, students must submit a thesis and pass a state exam. Upon successful completion of the exam, students are awarded a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.
